| Many of the most popular milk bottles were produced from the 1920s and 1930s through the 1950s. During this time period, bottles were made in attractive shapes and the graphics were commonly pyro-glazed, a process that involved applying the colors then firing for durability. Pyro-glazed labels did not scratch or wear easily, so some bottles can still be found with their graphics in excellent condition. |

| Bottles
can be collected by shape, era, or theme. Graphics on milk bottles
frequently include a dairy logo and location, so bottles can be
collected by state or area. A drawing of the dairy building was
sometimes included, illustrating interesting period architecture.
Bottles can also be found with patriotic graphics, like the one
pictured that says "America is a great place to live. Let's keep it
that way."
