EAPC
was made primarily in crystal (clear glass, not lead crystal) but
a few pieces can be found in colors like amber, blue, olive green, and
red. In addition, some crystal pieces had color flashed on. Flashed
colors are a thin, see-through coating on the outside of the glass.
Flashed color is fragile; the color tends to scratch and nick, so it
should be handled gently. With the exception of pieces with flashed
colors, EAPC
items are generally quite durable and nice to use. As with most
patterns, there were a few EAPC items that had relatively short
production runs (like the candleabra and square pitcher) and other
items that were made in large quantities (like the butter dish,
creamer, and sugar). Only a few EAPC items were made after 1978, so
most are now over 20 years old.
