The Pyrex brand was first introduced by the Corning Glass Works in 1915, and remains a trademark of Corning Incorporated. The Pyrex line began as bakeware. Pyrex became a staple in American kitchens due to its durability, dependability, ease of use, and easy clean-up. The Pyrex line expanded after World War II to include tableware, mixing bowls, oven-freezer sets and more.

Pyrex kept up with home decorating trends as they changed over time by adding new colors and patterns. A wide variety of Pyrex styles from various eras are now available to collectors. Clear and etched pyrex is a classic. Bright solid colors, dots and many colorful, detailed patterns are available from different time periods.

Pyrex is attractive enough to be stored in a visible place in the kitchen, and even vintage Pyrex can still be used, making this a fun and practical collectible. However, we suggest taking special care any very rare items in your collection. Daily use, while enjoyable, still holds the potential to cause damage.
