Walt
Disney's Mickey Mouse is one of the most
popular in the character collectibles category. Mickey Mouse made his
public debut in 1928 in a film named “Steamboat
Willie”. Mickey was originally drawn with circles for his
head, body and ears. In 1939, Mickey's body design was changed to have
a
pear shaped appearance, and pupils were added to his eyes. Mickey's
first feature
film role was the Sorcerer's Apprentice in 1940's Fantasia. Mickey was
the star of his own "Mickey Mouse Club" 1950s television show, and has
starred in over 120 different cartoons.
Disney memorabilia from the late 1920s and 1930s was marked either
"Walt E. Disney" or "Walt Disney Enterprises". After about 1940, the
name was changed to "Walt Disney Productions." This mark was used until
1984 when the "Walt Disney Company" mark was introduced.
