Wade Porcelain and Ceramics

Wade Ceramics was originally established in 1810 near Burslem, England. According to the Wade Ceramics website, the company is a leader in the design and production of high quality earthenware and porcelain products. Wade's "Nursery Rhyme" figurines both large and small are very popular with collectors.

Wade Whimsies where developed in 1953 by Sir George Wade. These small, solid ceramic figurines are very collectible. In the U.S., many Wade Whimsies were available as premiums in Red Rose Tea. Some, but not all, past Red Rose Tea series are "20 Animal Miniatures", "Endangered North American Animals", and "Noah's Ark". The "Noah's Ark" series consisted of seven pairs of animals and one figurine of Noah and his wife. The ark (pictured below) could be purchased separately. Currently available in Red Rose Tea is the "Pet Shop" series of Wades.
